UAW Ford, having seen the success of UAW Dodge utilizing the NEXTEL Cup platform to promote awareness and product sales, became involved in NASCAR in 2005. SportsONE developed a plan that has included the following key elements:

1. UAW Ford utilizes this program as an employee incentive platform where workers from the regional plants provide the staffing at the trackside display and have the opportunity to attend the weekend's series of races

2. Trackside interactive display program travels to 10 to 12 NASCAR events, as well as 2 to 4 non-NASCAR sanctioned events, showcasing the Ford Motor Company product and the UAW

3. Title sponsorship of the October Talladega Superspeedway NEXTEL Cup race, now known as the UAW Ford 500.
